EU Consulting, the German-based company established by Esko Uutela in 1994, is providing our readers with new, exclusive reports based on supply patterns for all major tissue markets. This week EU Consulting’s data is based on the Chilean tissue market; as usual, it should be considered complementary to the relevant data provided by Nielsen. Chile’s tissue market is currently some 140,000 tons and it is relatively well developed. Chile’s per capita consumption of tissue is 8.7 kg/head, which is one of the highest in Latin America. Chile’s geographical specifics make tissue transportation rather expensive to the most distant regions of the country. The Turkish tissue market is covered by this months’ featured statistics from AC Nielsen. Data include sales value (in New Turkish Lira and in Euro) as well as sales quantities, and are split up in major product fields. Stats sources include all stores with major activity in groceries, drug & impulse categories. The following adjacent store types are excluded: Cash & Carry stores (e.g. Metro), specialty stores, off trade consumption points (hospitals, hotels, fast food outlets) and open bazaars. No geographies and no retailers are excluded.
