Cashmere White Collection 2010

The Toronto Art Gallery in Ontario has recently been the scene of a highly unusual fashion show. The dresses worn by the models, designed by some of the most talented emerging Canadian stylists, were true masterpieces made entirely of Cashmere. “So?” you may ask, “what’s strange about that?” Nothing. Except that Cashmere is actually toilet paper. Yes, you’ve read correctly, we said toilet paper. It seems like a profane statement, but you just need to see who organised the event to make sense of this daring statement and give a new meaning to this eye-catching initiative, now in it’s seventh year: Cashmere is the brand name of the most popular toilet paper in Canada, and The White Cashmere Collection is the name of this unique and effective publicity...

SOFIDEL GROUP ACQUIRES COMCEH S.A.

Porcari (Lu), 23.11.2010 – Sofidel Group, via its Polish subsidiary, Delitissue Sp. Zo. o., has acquired the remaining 70% of the share capital of Comceh S.A,  a Romanian company with its head office in Calarasi, in South Romania producing and selling tissue paper products. It also gives the...

Paper says: Mobiles are recyclable

For now it is just a concept, but in the future it may offer frequent travellers, be it for work or pleasure, an easy and functional alternative to wasting plastic phone cases or buying multiple SIM cards. This is the idea: the electronic soul of a mobile phone, in this case a rental mobile, are inserted in a new external casing made of paper, which can then be changed every time the equipment is returned. It is an ideal solution because the product can always be considered new and it is easily personalisable, ecological and, above all, cost effective. For businesses, this can be a fun, eco-friendly way to promote their...

It’s over!

It’s over!

Dear friends, who have been following me all last week in the Oman race: it’s over!! Well, yes….. this time I really thought I’d had it, so finishing the race in seventh place,  was an outstanding achievement. The race went well beyond my expectations, in terms of both harshness and logistical difficulties. The course, featuring beautiful landscapes, was 172 km long with a 6000m rise. We passed from temperatures just above zero in the mountains to 40-42 degrees in the desert and just to go out with a bang, the last 75 km were all sand and dunes. Jeep transfers, small meals, a tent to sleep in and hot or cold weather awaited us at the end of a day’s race. Should you ask me if it was worth the challenge, I’d answer no. But ask me in a few days or even...
